Regular Meeting Minutes
The board meeting included recognitions for valedictorian, salutatorian, National Merit Scholars, Speech and Debate state qualifiers, the PHS Mock Trial team, Tara Zechman's Presidential Award, and Betsy Cranston's Ohio String Teacher of the Year award. Reports were given on student safety, staff accountability, the 2025-26 reduction plan, and the permanent improvement levy. Financial reports were reviewed and approved, along with committee minutes. Discussions included community engagement sessions, student achievement, and policy updates. Personnel matters such as resignations, supplemental contracts, homebound tutoring, sports camps, retirements, contract amendments, and an interim principal stipend were addressed. The consent agenda included approval of board minutes, certified and classified personnel actions, special education model policies, a student and family handbook addition, a lease agreement, a resolution on transportation impracticality, and various fundraisers. A sick leave pool approval and a teaching reduction in force resolution were also approved. An executive session was held to discuss negotiations with a public employee bargaining unit, and the current OAPSE collective bargaining agreement was rolled over.
