The City Council meeting addressed multiple key items. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to public input regarding short-term rentals, specifically concerning proposed caps and zoning density rules. The Council discussed and passed a resolution to refer the zoning code change regarding short-term rental density to the Planning Commission for further study. An ordinance to increase the maximum number of short-term rental permits was voted upon and failed. The Council also accepted the 2025 financial audit report and authorized an amendment to the solid waste contract with Republic Services, which includes an optional curbside recycling program for residents. Additionally, the Council postponed a proposed ordinance regarding mandatory orientation and continuing education for elected officials to a future reading.
