Provide risk manager consultant/insurance brokerage services and for the management of all aspects of Township's property and casualty insurance programs. Insurance consultants and brokers will have a close working relationship with the Administration Department.
The insurance consultant/broker will be required to perform, but not limited to, the following services: Assistance with the development of long-range insurance strategies; Management of all aspects of Berkeley Heights' insurance program; Review of both insurance policies and contracts to ensure adequate coverage; Recommendations and assistance in the procurement of all insurance coverage, including preparation of any required RFP’s and/or RFQ's. Project consists of comprehensive third-party claims administration services for property and casualty lines on behalf of a municipal joint insurance fund. The selected service provider will establish formal reporting procedures—including 24/7 emergency lines—and manage the complete lifecycle of all reported losses, adjustments, investigations, and settlements within defined authority limits. Core administrative duties include setting and updating claim reserves, coordinating with legal counsel and excess reinsurers on litigated or high-value claims, processing check and voucher disbursements, and executing data integration alongside detailed monthly financial and loss-run reporting. Additionally, the provider must apply mandated cost-containment programs and submit an annual Service Organization Control (SOC) report.
